Up for auction is a lovely and hard to come by Cephalotus Hummer's Giant.

Winner pays shipping - approximately 1 lb via US Priority Mail from zipcode 06045.

It's an established plant in a 3 inch diameter plastic cup pot (yes there are holes in the bottom) and has been growing an a terrarium in my basement under fluorescent lights. It's growing in the Charles Brewer Mix.

For those who would like to know, the Charles Brewer mix consists of:

45% dried spagnum moss
45% medium perlite
8% peat/sand mixture
2% wood charcoal

I heard you can increase amounts of peat and sand without problems.

Orchids for 5K . . .

Oh, I don't know about that. More than a few times, orchid collectors have shelled out thousands for something that looked like a dried twig in moss . . .
