Non-carnivorous Pinguicula

These aren't really Pinguicula, but these violet flowers remind me a lot of Pinguicula flowers. There was a bunch blooming today.

I always though it would be cool to see the plants that carnivorous plants evolved from. The flowers do remind me of a Pinguicula flower.

Yeah, it would be pretty neat if they did share a common ancestor.

Say, I noticed you live in Monroe, is that the one near New Brunswick? I was born in that area, 'cept had to move a few years ago.
