How do you rig a PC fan?

OK. I have ample access to PC fans. These are server class fans from DELL, IBM, HP, etc. I have about a dozen right now thinking I would hook them up one day, but I realized that I don't know much about the physical aspects of electronics. So does anyone have simple designs for such things?
