It's orchid bark from Lowes and it will be fine to use if it's "Fine" grade pieces (1/4"-1/2" in size) don't bother with the Medium and Coarse stuff cos it's really too big for Neps moisture loving, thin roots. In 2005 or so I started using shredded all-natural cypress or cedar mulch from lowes/HD to use as a replacement in soil mixes simply because it's like $3 for a mattress sized bag of mulch compared to $6 for a few quarts of brand name "orchid bark".
