My dionea have a normal round leaf

My dionea is developping a real normal leave ! like any other plant.
I know this leave is, in fact, a mutan trap, but its really cool anyway :)

And this leaf was not there yesterday!
The plant put out this leaf in 12hours max.

I had to share that :P

Neat! I could be from a combination of soil with nutrients and a low amount of light. What brand of peat moss do you use?

Thanks for sharing!

Yes i think this is the problem. Lack of light(problem solved) and too much feedind. My dionea have many years and its the first time i saw that!

I use fafard peat-moss. I know its not the top quality. I will need another bag soon, i will buy another brand.

The dionea you can see is grown in 75% peatmoss 25% sand. I feed almost every new trap. I will let the plant hunt alone now. I water with demineralized water and i never fertilize. And the temp is 28C day and 20C night.

I dont think a leaf without a trap is a "mutant trap"..
it is simply a leaf without a trap..it happens occasionally, not terribly rare.

Sarracenia_x: nop! The problem was just too much water. I have a 15inch pot for 12 vfts and i kept them too wet. Now i grow them much more on the dry side, they thrives(red traps) in my sunny room under my strong tubes.

Scot: mutant = abnormal trap.

Scot: mutant = abnormal trap.

Right..but my point was, it cant be a mutant trap, or an abnormal trap, if there is NO trap at all! ;)
If a person was born without a hand, would you say they have an "abnormal hand"?
probably not.."mutant" or" abnormal" suggest the thing exists in the first place..

I simply meant to suggest that "I know this leave is, in fact, a mutant trap," isn't technically true..
