Clipping the dead

I just recieved my first flytrap a few days ago. Some of the traps are dieing and turning black. It is a little unclear to me if I should simply trim off the trap when it dies or the whole leaf. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Buckmaster

Hey Buckmaster

You can just clip off the traps. The leaves will still produce energy for the plant ( photosynthesis ).

I feel like I should write more, but it is just that simple
