Stake or hanging

Hello fellow plant nuts,

I recently recieved a large plant (alata x maxima 3ft.) that has been growing as a hanging vine, in other words it is growing towards the ground. Although the pitchers are upright the leaves are upside down. I assume that in the wild that this plant would be growing across the ground with leaves facing the sun. So here is the question, could I tie the shoots to a stake so that it looks more natural?

If so can the older shoots slowly be trained to the stake or will I just end up breaking them? They seem quite inflexable with a .8cm diameter.

I would guess that you could train the plant up a stake so long as you were slow and careful about it. I was able to do this with my ventricosa though it wasn't quite the size yours is.
