My large brassia rex 'sakata (sp?)' has 4-5 new growths. I was wondering, shouldn't the orchid be preparing to bloom instead of sending up new shoots?

some Orchid send only flower spike on a new growth, I have no idea if Brassia are one of them.

Yes that is normal for Brassia.

My brassia has just bloomed. I haven't noticed new growth but then again I haven't really looked. It is a nice full plant and I was quite thrilled to see the flower spike. If I ever get my pics downloaded I will post pics of all the new bloomers. I have one paph in bloom, 2 others initiating buds.
