Are there any other good "fertilizers' out there, aside from superthrive, that people have had good success with?

how about 'growth suppliment'.

There are knockoffs of superthrive out there... then there is the homeade stuff like peat tea and so on...

I have heard of people using weak solutions of miracid, orchid fertilizer and the like...

I'm a bit of an ecology freak, if you really want to do this right, take your soil down to a professional lab, usually in the phone book under agriculture because they help farmers and gardeners. Have your soil mix tested and they will tell you what you could plant in the soil with the plants to supplement the nutrients they need. It is natural fertilizing of sorts refered to as crop rotation, you may already be familiar with the process. It is a great prospect for the grower setting up long term growing situations. Otherwise, ya, take Ram's advise and use some superthrive knockoff. There are also certain insects that will help "rebuild" or supplement the soil while doing no harm to the plants.
