B. reducta self fertile?

Hi,

my B. reducta is flowering at the moment. Does anybody know if B. reducta is self fertile? - Don't want to make a fool out of myself trying to pollinate the flowers when not self fertile... http://www.**********.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Is that U. longifolia in there with it?

I am not sure if they are self fertile or not but I think I remember reading that after they bloom they produce a couple pups and then croak. http://www.**********.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

Is that what U. longifolia looks like? I thought those were babies... Hehe

Hello,

the Utricularia is Ut. longifolia. Biggest leafes are about 13cm so it is still quite small for Ut. longifolia. I only started fighting the fungus living in its leafes (red blotches to totally red leafes) this spring, so it is not a surprise that it is not bigger being two years old.

Brocchinia should form some pups after flowering, but seed would be a chance to spread this still somewhat rare but easy plant to even more growers.
