Asda in the uk

This probably just applies to people in the UK (although Asda might as well just change its name to Wall Mart, so maybe some US people will know?)

Asda, untill recently, sold bags of irish peat moss. Cheap! they were like £1.99 for 40L. If I mix sand with it, do you think I could grow my CPs in it?

Sorry, I'm really paranoid about what I'm going to get these things to grow in. I've only had them a few months. My pitcher has trebled in size, and my sundew and VFT are doing equally well. I'm trying to work out how to tell my girlfriend I need to keep them in the fridge over winter...

You can use washed horticultural sharp sand (it will say this on the packet), but you would probably be better off using plain peat or mixing it 2:1 with washed perlite.
