Ok...for those of you who liked this plant, I finally got the official ID from Phil Sheridan.

Here is the plant again.

Ok...I'd like to give folks a chance to once again toss out their opinions on what this is.  Then I will reveal the real identity!  Haw haw...just gonna tease you a little bit.

I think it is (luecophylla x rubra) x (luecophylla x purpurea) x luecophylla? It's a wild guess, but hey! lol....

Plain ol' leucophylla!  lol   So actually Goldtrap came closest if you ignore the viagra part.

Phil said that was one of the plants that got marginally hit with herbicide when some vandal sprayed his plant beds.  It didn't kill the plant but made it produce the odd, upright lid.

So...a bit disappointing that it isn't some cool new hybrid.  Just goes to show what environmental influences can do to a plant.

Well, everybody had the leuco part right. There just wasn't anything else mixed in.

cool , so i did get it right

, not only does the plant have an opnened top but its pitchers are really skinny and more dark pinkish colored , if the plants keeps producing leaves like this forever , he might as well make a new cultiver ( sarracenia x viagra herb )
