Bring plants from US to Canada

Has anybody here ever brought plants with them while travelling from US to Canada or vice versa?  I was just wondering if the phyto-docs would be filed at customs?  Do they have the personel to do that at the airports?

Don't trust my oppionion because I'm most likely wrong, but I don't think they mind if you take plants over the borders, it's just fruit that mater because of the fruitfly problem.  Because my dads allowed to bring vegetables over the border but mangoes and other fruits if caught could get you a 100.00 fine!
