try a google search on the birds of paradise. there are 2 different kinds, the white flowered and the blue and orange flowered. the white flowered versions get much larger than the blue and orange. locally, i only see the white flowered ones for sale, but i was able to order a blue and orange one from the store a friend works at...
my Bird of Paridise is about 10 years old and 4.5 ft tall. i saw a relitive to these 2 weeks ago at a coservitory. it had to be 50 ft tall. i forget what species it is.
