Phalaenopsis growing again...

Hope someone can help me on this topic...

My phalaenopsis (which exhausted itself blooming back in December) has started to recover and is growing again. I cut the spike an inch above the largest 'eye' or node. To my surprise, there is growth from the 'eye' now... except, it's not just growing another spike as I would expect; it looks like it's growing more leaves! There are several flat almost spade-like shapes protruding from the 'eye'. Is this normal? Am I suppose to cut it off and repot it?

Thanks

Charles

it's a keiki (i think that's how it's spelt)

when it grows roots and it big enough you can pot it up.

Some, such as Phal equestris and Phal pulchra, do that a lot. Let it grow roots to 1" before cutting the stem just below it. Don't try to pull it off the stem - just plant it with a little bit of stem attached. Then pot it up in a small pot and let it grow a while before exposing it to sun.
