Drosera prolifera

My D. prolifera has been flowering. They are very dinky.

'Dinky' has quite a different meaning in England;

dinky adj  (colloq.) -  Pretty, neat, of engaging appearance

(The Oxford Illustrated Dictionary).

I still think it's a dinky flower though, even if I don't mean the same thing!

Interesting...I've NEVER heard dinky used that way.

So you could say "My girlfriend is dinky" and that would be a compliment...

Doesn't sound like a compliment to me, and I am sure you would be girlfriend-less the very next day.

Isn't an English Language Dictionary the same thing in both countries? We both DO speak English, even though it may sound different.

Ah. They should be considered different languages, English and America because American is evolving its own language.
The dinky thing is just one example of this.
