It might be too late now, but do you have any other Tillandsias to cross it with? I've had Tillandsias set seed, but I've never seen that seed germinate.

Tillandsia seed itself is atmospheric. The way that most Tillandsia "farms" germinate and grow from seed when not just propagating by offsets is generally done by placing any viable seed on a screen or mesh material. This provides adequate airflow which is necessary, and I do believe misting here and there along with some sort of humidity is also needed.

I've had a few seed germinate believe it or not, surprisingly in the bottom of a saucer that one of my cp's was in. Not hard, just slow.
