Out of Curiosity, what color are Mexican

Are they as red as the plants we see from Joseph, Andrew, Peter,... all the time or just May through September or...?
 
It all depends on how much sun they get, as well as some genetic variation. Check out www.pinguicula.org where you can see many pics on how they grow in the wild. Many will be mainly green with a few all red ones!

I think that the constant high light from fluorescent lights is what make these so highly colored. Maybe hard to duplicate in sunlight without burning them?

I do think they are not as red when in winter leaf form.

Thank you for providing the link. Need more time to read through the material. Had to know that Joseph Clemens would be authoring a section on proper nomenclature!

Uh huh, looks like, many of them, appear very much like my own plants.
