    I'm curious to try this, as well as putting some other so-called 'fragile' plants outdoors for the warm season (I especially want to try a Ceph if I can get some clones going from my first one.) I have a big sheet of translucent white plastic that I was going to cut into a little roof for one of my outdoor tables so that I could control the rainfall.

    PS - You can rig a roof over something for really cheap using aluminum electrical conduit if you have a pipe bender ($15-$30.) 100' of conduit is like $50 or less and you could build a whole greenhouse-sized cold frame with that much. I use it with chickenwire to keep critters out of my VFTs but it could just as easily work with plexiglass or translucent film.

    Don't laugh... I was tossing a couple bags of garbage out to our complex dumpster and saw that someone tossed a meshed thingy with legs. I might just fish it out later!

    ugh! i meant that you could use this as a reference to build something...gotta love diy projects
