Strange smell

I've noticed a very rank smell coming from the base of my pot. Any suggestions as to what it might be? Or whether I should just repot it.

I'd say you should repot it. I don't think any kinda of bad smell from a ping is a good thing. x.x

It can be a dead slug (some are really big), it can be smell from non running water (H2S like)...

Just repot it, why take any chances? If you are getting anaerobic decomposition, you are probably keeping it overly wet. I suggest you use a looser and more open mix, and keep it less wet. I do not keep Mexican Pings in tray water, they do fine in much less wet conditions.
