If had known that Tamlin, about the Ariocarpus fiss. I could have gotten a nice one for dirt cheap. I recently sold my large one and I was at a cactus show recently as well and where some friends were selling large ones too. For like $10 they had 10+ yr old plants and my plant was somewhere around that age as well. Perhaps I'll see what I can do. There is a large show comming up here soon. Did you get my PM?

The tiny stickers your refering to are called glochids, they grow out of the areole.

And yes, they can be quite a pain (pun intended)

Imagine having one of those rusty colored teddy bear ear Opuntias (a huge one) on a shelf 6 foot up. Imagine being bare chested and having the whole flipping thing fall. Imagine CATCHING it, clasping it to your body. Just imagine that.

If this ever happens to YOU remember: duct tape is your friend.

Ohhhh, those Euphorbia look sooooo tempting! I like them because they have thorns vs spines.

I have come to hate spines.

I see some other old friends in your collection: a nice Astrophytum and some cool monsterous forms of Cerus.

Tamlin, 2 plants to the right of the white pot in the center, where it is just a glare is actually the Ario. fiss. I had that was 25+ yrs old it was actually a rescued plant from a ranch going to a parking lot. I sold it to Arid Lands as a breeding stock though it was actually pretty old, it had a new gene pool.
