    DJ57:
The ICPS store currently does not have Cephalotus seed to offer, so it's moot. That was, however, where I obtained my seeds last September. I recall there were about ten seeds in the pack, which I sowed on finely chopped Sphagnum and stratified in the fridge for six weeks. I then moved the pot out into my Nepenthes greenhouse (highland/intermediate) for germination. A week ago the first seedling appeared, and within days seven more were up. I believe there are still eight in total, which I think is very good germination! (80%) the first true leaf is starting to show on two of these now. I'll try to get a photo today.

You can buy seed off eBay if you are desperate, but it's a gamble whether they are viable or not. perhaps someone here can speak to their experience with eBay-bought Cephalotus seed? Some sellers may be more reliable than others.

LOL, yeah I did not look at the dates of original start of thread before posting, just saw ceph seed and got excited I guess. Thanx for your info on how you did your seeds, very good germination rate and congrats! I am very patient and will wait for a reliable source to come along rather than the crap shoot of Ebay stuff, LOL. Would love to see pics of your seedlings.

While true when small amounts of seed are donated, this fall there were over 30 pkts of seed in the store.

A reliable source is a good thing as well as time-of-year to ensure you're getting fresh seed (typically fall in the Northern hemisphere & 6 months from that in the South). Patience is a very good trait when growing Cephs from seed ...

Great to hear that people are getting germination!! Maybe someday we'll figure out why some folks struggle with these seeds ...
