In the course of doing fall stuff at the nursery, weeding, dividing, repotting, etc. I was left with a bit of two very nice NA native bog plants which make very nice cp companions in an outdoor temperate bog. I was told to just throw it out, but figured someone would enjoy it, so I'm offering two packages which each contain a nice starter of the two respective species. #1 is Eriophorum angustifolium, Cotton Grass. It's a grassy plant that forms dense clumps of narrow grassy leaves about 1.5'-2' tall. In the summer it flowers with cottony "puffs" that flutter in the slightest breeze. It's a native of peat bogs around the northern areas of the entire northern hemisphere, including Alaska, Canada, and the northern tier of the continental US into the coastal regions of NJ & NY. It's hardy in zones 3-7. #2 is Equisetum scirpoides, the miniature version of Horsetail Rush. It only grows about 6" high or so, and like the Cotton Grass is native to cooler regions of the entire northern hemisphere, including Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, New York, South Dakota, Vermont, Washington, and Wisconsin. Hardy zones 4-9. Links to pics:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eriophorum_angustifolium & https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equisetum_scirpoides. Shipping will be in a small USPS Priority box, for which I ask $6. The only other requirement is that you be a participating member of the community. I'll have my grandson pick two random numbers on Sun night. You know the routine.

Hey SubRosa,
Do you think those 2 plants would do well indoors with their feet wet? I grow a few riparium plants and I'd like your thoughts on growing them in this: http://ripariumsupply.com/products-page/hanging-planters/small-hanging-planter-3-pack/

Wet feet is definitely not a problem, but I don't know how they'd do long term without a winter dormancy.

Sounds worthy of a go.
