Any Stylidium petiolare growers ?

I just repotting some S. petiolare division, they are so littles! :)

Any Stylidium petiolare grower?

I grow debile and adnatum, which are rather nice, if you have spare divisions of petiolare I would very much like to trade later in the season! I find stylidium to be rather wonderful plants, and very easy to grow!

I grow debiles and graminifolium. It's good to see other growers are interested in Stylidium.

Peatmoss: i agree! Stylidium are one of my fav plants in my collection. I was surprise how mush they like very high humidity, at least petiolare, so i have to grow them in terrarium with my genliseas and some mexican pinguiculas.

Punpkinface: hehe nice to see another stylidium grower! Im not even 100% sure its carnivorous, but its a wonderfull plant to have in any tropical collection\greehouse

I have only one Stylidium, S. debile. I think it's great! The flowers are just so absolutely fun to tease, and have fun colors. I thought I lost it to weeds last year, but a sprout just showed up. Yay!

Some day I gotta try the other species. I saw one, once, that was three to four feet across, and was in a pot that must have needed a forklift to move.

Here my baby :)

Its a lil division, but growing very fast !

Now waiting will be the hardest part :/

Wow! That reminds me of a green sea anemone:D

That is incredible (or perhaps I should say- incredibly but pleasantly weird looking)!! The Stylidium genus never ceases to amaze me! I remember the first time I saw a trigger mechanism fire in an S. debile. I totally was not expecting it- I am pretty sure a 4 letter word was uttered.

Thanks for sharing!

Wow!!! That is beautiful. I currently only have debile, but have been keeping my eyes open for other species. After seeing the petiolare I am going to start actively looking for more species.

You said that it likes humidity, I have found the same with the debile. I had no place to put one of my divisions, so I put it in a tray that had some cuttings and a humidity dome. The leaves became much brighter and fuller, I now keep most of my debile in either my greenhouse of under humidity domes. I think they like it much better, however they do not flower as vigorously in the humidity.

Thanks for a great thread.

Same here. I grow mine just like many of my other CPs. I actually put my in my Heli/Utric terrarium for a long time and they really took off- often growing out of the bottom of their pot.

Yep stylidiums are pretty amazing ! Right now i grow my petiolare in 40% Relative humidity. The plant still seems to thrive in lower humidity. Next week i will buy a new terrarium, a big one. I will put all my HL neps, heli and maybe the stylidium.

"and they really took off- often growing out of the bottom of their pot."

same for me, roots running in the saucer under the plant! For me, its a good health sign :)

I only have debile, but it grows and flowers like crazy for me.
If any of you that have other kinds of Stylidium want to trade some plugs for something, pretty please shoot me a PM.
I'd love to get my hands on as many kinds of Stylidium as I can.

SgtSarracenia: My stylidium is, in fact, a clump of plants. I will probably have many plants, if you guys want some. Probably late july, someting like that.

Where did you originally get it? Did you grow it from seed?

I would love a plug or two. Thank you for offering. That would be great. I will keep an eye out for it.
