We have our second graduate student (MS) working on the hydrology of pitcher plant bogs at the Joseph Pines Preserve. He is documenting how our restoration efforts, through hardwood removal, are increasing groundwater levels in our rainwater fed sand seepage bogs. Surprisingly, this effect has not been documented before and we are pleased to be pioneers in this field.
