"In situ" of the month: November 2011

This was a great idea.
I know there are not a lot of winter scenes posted in the forum so I thought I would throw a couple out there for you all to see. These were taken 3/9/08 from one of my favorite bogs near my old house in Oakland County, Michigan.

In this photo, the only part of the S. purpurea ssp. purpurea that’s visible is the previous season’s flower stalk. This was the only one I found like this. After I took this photo, I broke the pod open and scattered the seeds (a few hundred or so).

Most of the purps were buried under a foot of snow and ice but I did manage to find a few exposed.

Is there a way to do the poll so we can see the images all together? It's hard to do the rankings and keep looking through six pages of photos.
