How to import nepenthes & cp's

Hi all,

Just thought I would share this link. I found it really useful. It is a orchid site however most of the information holds true for nepenthes and other CP's.

This site breaks down what you need in order to bring in plants from outside of Canada.

Basically for Nepenthes most of them are appendix 2 plants. This means the vendor has to send them with a CITES certificate issued from his government but you do not need a certificate issued from the Canadian government. Further to this you require a phytosanitary certificate also supplied by the vendor. Lastly if you ordering from the USA for personal use, in most cases you do not need a import permit (their are a couple of states that are a exception). I called the CFIA and they confirmed not requiring a import permit.
