You can barely see the skinny tankmate

He/She is about 12 inches long. This bad fish likes to bite my finger when i try to clean the tank, usually ending up with a bleeding finger

I like Oscars, neat fish. Is the skinny tankmate a gar?
The tank is very open!!! Has he been in there his/her whole life

My Oscar, probably similar age or slightly older, is in a 75, but shares the tank with a beat up (not from the Oscar, old wounds) approx. 14-year old Silver dollar, four angelfish (3 years old??), a pleco, a pair of firemouts, a young female convict (baby from my other tank, see other thread), and a Raphael catfish I have had for about 23 YEARS. The catfish developed bad cataracts (?) over the past few months. I originally had two Oscars bought at the same time, an albino and a red. They got along until they got big, at which time they fought and eventually I gave away the albino. I got the current Oscar at a small, 1" size also, he was put with the other when fairly young. All was well until this one got big, at which time he unfortunately ended up killing the red one. He does not bother the other fish. I feed him mostly Hikari cichlid pellets and occasionally earthworms, no feeder fish. I also get the attacked fingers when cleaning the tank!!

one of my mom's friends in Jupiter has a little pond FULL of Oscars!!!!
at first you don't see them because they blend in with the water but when you throw pellets in the water they come out and go crazy!!!!!1

how big do Oscars get? their oscars were pretty big.

Really? That's cool.

I heard she had a pleco in uranus.

im glad to see that the oscar is in a good size tank and not suffering from hole in the head

its sad to see oscars in a 10gallon :(

More pics of Big O

Its so funny. My Oscar really loves to people to be around but when nobodys in my room, he swims up to the corner of the tank where he can see people in the hallway.

Heres a picture taken from the hallway into my room.

A closer look...

Even closer

The last pic rocks because it looks like he's sneaking out of the closet at night when you're asleep, to attack.
