My Aquariums and Aquascapes.

I had to pull down my three fish tanks for health reasons only.

This was my first attempt at Aquascaping the 5ft tank.

That photo was published in an Aust Calendar a few years ago.

Now all pulled down only a few shrimps left every thing was sold to one buyer.

This is what I am planning another Terrascape called "Fern Gully"
backing%20plan%20FSize%201%20%205.15%20edited-1.jpg

Looks like its going to be this is the roughy think tank and work it out full size with the backing.
1 mounds on sloping backing
2 protruding mound to hold soil and the creeping plants ivy etc
3 UGF tube base only straight onto the gravel substrate (which will have a sheet of shade cloth on top
4 gravel 1-4mm substrate
5 soil level
6 front mound
7 back mound (less slope)

Very nice terrascape! Pretty inspiring actually. I'll be checking back to see how Fern Gully progresses :)

Thanks for sharing

If interested I can start a Journal.

I was not very happy with the way the LH side was developing.

I had a few Tillandsias given to me (name unknown) with a little bit of work and a few adjustments this is the result, two Tillandsias added (the lower Till is all one plant)plus some Spanish Moss this is the result.

Next step remove the gum nuts and replace them with "a piece of Cactus skeleton" and if possible a few mini Tillandsias.

That's very creative. I sometimes find myself rearranging things that are no longer satisfactory to my tastes as well. lol

Also, how's "fern gully" coming along?

Knuckles

All the planning has been done to full size.

We start our winter in a few days time meaning very little time to work outside as its either too cold or wet, no indoor or outdoor covered area to work in.

Working with styrene foam is a very messy job and cannot be done indoors.

Locating the Cactus skeleton is not easy in Aust and cannot be privately imported unless you pay big money for treatment and quarantine.

A few updated photos.

Till Bulbosa I like the red on the Till apparently its an indication that flowering is not that far off.
