    You can get rid of IE, but you have to go into regedit, and that's something you don't want to do. One small mistake and you could screw up the computer.

    IE is built-in to Windows. Just don't use it.

    I love mac pc's. Only thing better is Linux but that's not for your average user. Only those who wish to know the real ways of the computer should turn to linux. however it is becoming slowly more user friendly. i's not worth your time getting rid of IE as it is also linked to your desktop explorer (folders and such). Like nrbelex said just don't use it.
