Well, I'd just be skeptical. If this were really the next big thing, I'd imagine more of big business would be picking it up. It is also suspect that these sites provide no citation and only vague reference to sources. It took at least two links to find any sort of bibliography to support these claims. More commonly, they cite the Bible and other old world writings, which makes me suspect that they are pandering to a relatively non-scientific audience - ask yourself why that might be. They continuously extend cases of the specific to the general (some ORMEs are superconductive, yet they use this to casually claim that all are superconductors,) and this faulty logic makes me think that there conclusions have not been carefully reviewed by the scientific community (or that they have paid little attention to criticism.) I understand why there's such an interest in these high-spin states of certain metals, but it seems to me that we have very little understanding of the phenomenon. It's hard to believe that these people are making such spectacular claims of a property that's not even clearly understood by the medicine and chemistry communities.

A lot is not understood, and that's the point. There is a lot out there that we don't know about. The medicine and chemistry communities are not always the sole source of knowledge. The sites you see are mainly second hand experience and research. They reference the bible and old alchemy becuase... that's where it comes from. Simple as that. New things have to start somewhere, and it requires one to have an open mind. A scam, or false science, DOES NOT and CANNOT go this deep. I have spent 3 days strait researching this, and it goes so deep that you wouldn't believe it. The subject of Ormus gold stretches into so many avenues, it would be impossible for me to express it's importance unless the audience takes the time to really research it. It is equally strictly scientific as it is historical, spiritual, and theoretical science.

I'm with seedjar... although if these things were that powerful, unless they could be patented somehow, the big businesses probably wouldn't mind if you'd never heard of them. There are a lot of unpatentable found-in-nature compounds that do people a lot of good that you never hear about because there's no reason for a pharmaceutical company to put billions into marketing them.

Remember pseudoscience runs rampant among people who desperately want to believe something, whatever that something may be. Tread carefully.

How advanced is your chemistry and physics? I've had a bit of both - the amount needed for an engineering degree plus a few environmental chemistry classes. But that isn't enough for me to do a credible evaluation of things like this. So how do you?

Me being a 16 year old, I have no degree in any of the sciences. I do, however, have a deep knowledge in physics, with some chemistry and quantum physics. Limited though. I understand quite a bit of the scientific jargon, but there is some that I don't.
Let me tell you something. Every major corperation is built upon people who want and lust for more money. They are not interested in helping consumers, or the people of the world. Thinking that they would let some of these lesser known cures and medicinal practices take over the market, and take away their business (or in some cases could completely make the business obsolite) is Ludacris. It is absolutely, destructively, naive. People have short memmory when it comes to history, and the history of greed and corruption. With that said, I guarantee that when the public starts to hear more about this, they will be scrutinised by the drug companies, and most likely made illegal like marjuana and so many other beneficial herbs and such. It goes on and on and on this way, and I feel sad for the majority of the public who can't see it. All the disease we have concentrated in our society, and people just sit there and take without the slightest thought of why it's occuring. It's because of the big kingpins behind the pharmacuticals and food companies and water companies that put all sorts of bad chemicals into what we consume, poisoning us all the way. It pisses me off because I know that in this day in age there are great things that humanity can be doing it as a whole, and we're letting it go down the crap pipe, making my family and elders suffer for it!

I'll tell you what. I've had this bruise on my toe for 6 months now that hasn't healed. My big toe has become very sensative to pressure, and it bleeds just about every day because the cuts in the toenail or something wont heal. Its been a real mess, and I'm begging for it to go away. So I shall take some of these ormus products for a while, and tell you if it heals or not. I shall be taking before and after images as well.

That's all well and good, but it's not really a scientific test. You need a control group to determine if the ormus minerals actually have an effect; otherwise you can attribute your toe's recovery to anything. If you want to figure out what the deal really is with this stuff, do more research and start looking at primary literature. Don't trust these people making the supplements to tell you what's good about it. Go find the real, hard science that's been done. It may be a little hard to read the first time, but it's not something that's impossible to learn. You obviously are scientifically literate and have an interest, so put it to work. They don't teach you any real secrets about reading lab data in college - it's all practice, and maybe a little bit of math. You just need to start with primary data and proven methods of analyzing it. There is something to this, but it seems like you've been distracted by these flashy optimistic claims. You'll get a lot more by going to the source of the information.
Like endparenthesis said, this is psuedoscience; just because they're citing studies and using jargon, it doesn't mean they're drawing sound conclusions from the evidence.

As far as the posotive claims go, I don't really state any claims from the few suppliers of this, and indeed they either disdain from, or are reluctant to make any special claims on the stuff. Most of the claims I stated are from the most random sources of testimonials I could find on the net, along with some rather more credible testimonials. Like I said, a lot of the solid evidence is out there, but I can't just post it all here. You have to go find it for yourself if you have any sort of interest. That's how you will come to the propper conclusions.
