Space Shuttle Discovery

Here are some pictures I just snapped during the launch.  We live about 15 miles south of Cape Canaveral.

I am glad to see there was no big BOOM. I wonder how that crack in the foam I heard about this morning did on lift off.

Great photos! I watched the lift off too. I was amazed at the statistics they were showing. That sucker was accelerating at an incredible rate. It hit 14,000 MPH before they took the counter off. That's mind boggling! Can you imagine riding in something that is going THAT fast??

It does give one pause.
Nice photos!

The speed is amazing. The news said at some point it was going 4 miles every second. Hopefully that won't be the last space shuttle launch.
