Galvanized Steel Pots

I know the best pots for CPs are either plastic or glazed ceramic, but today I was at IKEA and saw some really cool looking galvanized steel pots for sale, and I was just wondering if its ok to plant CPs in one of these?

I'm concerned about the steel reacting with the acidic peat, as well as how the temperature of the peat will be affected when put out in full sun.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
B.

Not positive, but I would think the zinc, which is what the silvery coating on galvanized is, would be no good-- just line the pot with heavy sheet plastic though and it should be fine!

I think the metal might heat up too much in full sun.

Yea makes sense. Thanks for the input.
