You forgot that "Sucla" is a creative contraction for South Carolina. In all my days in Texas I've never heard as much syllable disposal.

Throckmoron thats a new one on me. I always caled them north and south cackilacki, or carolina in general.

Its a wide known myth around here that if you cross over into South Carolina you loose about 10 IQ points until you leave the state.

One thing I have learned...Southerns don't care how the devil they do it in New Yak.

This is particularly true of the construction trades. Many major New York Construction Companies opened branch offices down here during our 1970's building boom and again in the 80/90's.

They sure showed us how it was done "Up North".
They all left after a couple of years, licking their wounds and trying to figure what the heck went wrong.

To be fair, "Sucla" just came from an old timer in a diner on the interstate somewhere just into the state at about 3:30 in the morning. It was his response when repeatedly asked where we were. Only place I have been in my adult life where a 24 hour diner on the interstate didn't take plastic and the closest ATM was at the lone gas station one or two exits back (spoiled American). Oops, was this thread about Georgia? Where's that South Carolina thread?
