It's a very wise idea to drink very moderately when on opaites.

I really feel for you man. My mom is just like you with her back. It won't heal at all.

Want to know my secret to cutting back on soda?

I got a kidney stone this past June. I now drink water about 90% of the time, and perhaps once a week I'll have a single soda.

Trust me, after the intense (and I mean INTENSE) pain of a kidney stone, you don't think twice about dropping the soda.

ohhh talking about a good buzz. Pain meds with alcohol. LOL Just picking. That is not a good combo. Unless you know moderation. If you want to detox off something. No matter what it is. Get yourself a diuretic. Something that makes you pee. Like Goldenseal root, beer, cleans blends herbal tea, or anything else that is going to make you pee. Alot of water will do it too. Just don;t over do that either. You can kill yourself by drinking to much water. It has happened!!!

Yeager Ahhh lithium! I like yeager, but I have never had a yeager bomb yet. My energy drink of choice is Full throtle Fury. The red can. Its awesome! I was drinking one of those a day for a while then had to get myself off them.

The thing about drinking caffine everyday is that you do start building up a tolerance for the stimulant effect. I stopped cold turkey a few years ago. I no longer keep soda in the fridge and don't keep tea made anymore unless someone is coming over. That way when I do drink something with caffine in it I do get the stimulant effect I desire from time to time.

It is always a good not to do things be it drugs or herbs everyday. This goes for caffine, carbs, and other things. Yes I consider carbs a drug too!! Ever notice that when you eat something loaded in carbs you want more and more. The thing is we have to eat to survive and unfortunately we cannot eat just protine our livers cannot handle it. So the key is MODERATION!!!!! I have to agree with Rattler you need to maintain control. Now granted I like to drink and get drunk and I am not in total control at those times, but I can control the earge to get drunk and do not get waisted ever time I drink.

Good luck everyone with your caffine addictions. Just flush your systems and fight the earge to drink something with caffine until you can maintain control.

It's interesting you say that because I saw something on the news ticker on CNN that said something about how people prone to addiction (be it drugs, sex, gambling, porn, whatever) are prone to overeating as they get the same dopamine "rush" as an addict. I've always kind of thought that western foods are addictive. Look at all those chemicals we consume everyday in our food! Surely they can't be good for you. Maybe they are like nicotine.

It's like Jim Gaffigan said about Thanksgiving. "How about a holiday where we overeat? " "But we do that everyday!"

speaking of alcohol. My father had kidney stones and the doctors had him drink several beers. That was some years ago and I'm sure they use a different diuretic now.
    moderation is the key.

stoli orange and red bull... we have a drink called Hype around here and they market it in bars with the cute little shotglasses that are shaped like an hour glass. You put the Hype in the bottom and your choice of booze on the top... People seem to have fun with the names also... Hyper Jack, a Hyper Kamakazi, and so on. When I hear Hyper Grey Goose it always makes me laugh.
