As many of you know from reading my posts I am to the right side of politics. I like much of what the republicans stand for. Not all mind you, but alot. I have not like recent democrats running for president. I despised Clinton, Gore, and Kerry. Granted Bush was probably not much better than those, but to me he was the lesser of the two evils. That is another thread though.

So my question for the people here is, would you vote for Obama if he ran for office?

Personaly I would vote for Obama if he ran. He seems like he has common sence for everyone and not just a certain segment of the population. Unlike other Dems who, to me, focus on the poor and bringing down big corperations, and the republicans who seem to only focus on the uber rich, Obama seems like he is for every American. I could see myself voting in the country's first black President. That would be the only way the dems would get my vote is by convincing him to run for office. Since if they have Hillary running they are garenteed not to get my vote. I don't trust her as far as I can through her. No offense ladies, but I am not ready to have a hormonal witch in office yet. She may be able to lead her husband Bill around and rule the roost there, but I don't think she would make a good president.

It's funny how he appeared out of nowhere and seems to have gathered the spotlight. His stand on issues ? He is very likeable and speaks well for a political figure. I'd like to see a track record before turning over the country to him though. At least this might take our mind of the Govenors race here... That's a whole other thread as well.

I wouldn't. Even if I really liked the guy (actually I don't know enough about him to make an educated decision), I live in Texas now. Voting for a democrat here is as good as literally throwing your vote in the trashcan.

Well I am a republican myself, but every vote counts though and you maybe surprised. So far he is a junior senitor and has not had time to realy make any stances yet. He hasn't even finished his first term. I read an article on him on the internet written by a writer from Time magazine. He seems willing to see the other side if issues. Most folks today just want to see one side of the issue. I like the guy. To me he speaks whatis on his mind even if it means offending some of his supporters. I am ready for a change and I think if he was an option I would give him a shot. He might be the guy who puts term limits ont he congresspeople. Who knows. He has said he wouldn;t run, but now it seems he might. Still no definate answer we shall see. He cannot be no worse than Clinton or Bush. Considering all the power is in congress and those old farts.

It's too bad that so many people think this way - one of the down falls of the electoral college system. It had its time, but now that we have the technology we really should go to popular vote. But that's another thread (is there and echo in here?).

I know nothing about this guy, so I can't really say.

What I'm waiting for is someone who runs and tells the truth - something along the lines of "yeah, I did when I was younger - if you don't like that, don't vote for me."

Went to his website and it didn't cover the issues I care about most such as gay marriage and medical procedure. I don't like his opinions on immigration.

I'll be voting next election and it looks like i'm going to vote for HC.
