    That stinking flower is a Hoodia species. Just found it in my plant book now.

    Ah, ok thanks. After some minutes of research, it seems that Hoodia is in fact a type of Stapeliad. I don't 'spose your book says anything about growing them?

    Lets see. Hoodia is the genus name. Growing them...

    they are attractive plants for amateur growers, but are not easy and are extremely sensitive to over watering. the plant demands both high temperature thought the year and high light to induce flowering. Grafted plants are hardier and more floriferous.

    Thats about all it says.
