Ooh the carnage! Poor black widow, should have let her escape.
I posted this in the sundew forum, but for anybody that missed it, here it is again.

Ok this one takes the cake....

On a field trip at the ICPS Conference 2006 I stumbled upon a S. purpurea that had caught a live salamander.

Hmm ohmm lol well let just say that is not the same salamander . I just left the little guy where I found him, I would not take the zebra from the lions mouth so how could I take the S. purpurea prey... No, I really did feel sorry for the cute little guy afterwards.

If it makes you feel better, I bet he could have got out if he wanted. He's probably gone by now

This one time I hit a toad with a weed eater when I was clearing the bog and I felt HORRIBLE! I just nicked his gland though and he hopped away. I felt SO bad! I hope he's still alive. I bet he is.

This photo did not turn out well. Not enough light. The golden hour might be great for taking photos of supermodels but not CPs. I should have used the flash. You can barely make out the the head and thorax (indicated by the arrow) of a gnat or flying ant stuck on my Drosera capillaris x rotundifolia. This is an older leaf, the tentacles never closed up on the insect so now there is a dead gnat hanging there.

Grand Hotel... always the same. People come, people go. Nothing ever happens.

Here's a slightly better picture. The insect wasn't moving around as much so you can almost make out the legs.
