It will be much easier to follow Christ now that his body has been located.

His body is not located on the Earth but in Heaven.

Mark 16:5-8

5 As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed. 6 "Don't be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter, 'He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.'" 8 Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.

John 20:26-31

26 A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" 27 Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe." 28 Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!" 29 Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

Mark 16:19

19 After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God.

I have not read the entire thread so if this has been said already sorry.

I want to know what you are going to do when religion gets proved to be a form of mind control? You do realize they found the lost tomb of Jesus and his family don't you. The guy that did the film was on Fox last night. He said he went there to help disprove the find, and after doing the film came back believing it was true. The film is on Discovery Sunday at 9.

So now that the bible is soon to be proved foney or proved altered what do you think is going to happen to "religion"?

I still think it is a form of mind control and all man made.

Good luck with your journey in self discovery though. I just think your a paranoid guy though. The thought of going to hell. Ha ha ha. When you die your atoms get recycled and thats it! Either your burned or buried to rot your nutrients are getting recycled and that is it.

Lmao, we both know I stay paranoid lmao

I'm not on a "journey" guys! I'm not religious! My life is gonna stay the same! I still hate it when people quote the bible and I think christian music sucks! It'll be a cold day in hell before I step foot in church. Only time I've ever been was to go to NA meetings and i'm not going back. Not my bag. I still like porn and drugs and sex and devils music! If god is all loving, then he doesn't worry about the little stuff. That's what I think.

I don't think they can prove or disprove god. I'm an agnostic christian? lmao. I don't even like calling myself a chistian.

hey Clint, thanks for the grand new thread, but I'm still not sure what you're trying to prove...
Do you believe in a Santa who will give you good stuff no matter what you do? Or is your god a mortal deity whose actions are restricted by some supernatural limitations? Or some nice guy who wants you to have a few blissful years on earth, eating poisoned apples? And Jesus Christ, is he another Gandhi? Or a superhuman who died? Or another piece in the nothingness of Nirvana?

Who doesn't like porn and drugs and sex? They're pretty awesome. Except that they jack you over. And the same goes for self-absorbed religious conceitedness, except that's not as much fun, and I think nobody here has that problem.

You're not on a journey... does that mean you just shifted your position and are now looking at new landscape? Well congratulations I guess

I'm not trying to prove anything :)

Yeah, I have shifted my position, and thanks so much for the support buddy. This is a big step I think.

The story everybody is talking about can be found here:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/6397373.stm

This is under the "Findings refuted" section:

-----------------------------
Israeli archaeologist Amos Kloner, who was among the first to examine the tomb when it was first discovered, said the names marked on the coffins were very common at the time.

"I don't accept the news that it was used by Jesus or his family," he told the BBC News website.

"The documentary filmmakers are using it to sell their film."
------------------------------

Since when do movie directors know more about archeology than the actual archaeologist who found the tomb? Obviously this find is just another opportunity to "stir the pot" and just generate more money for a capitalizing Hollywood.

BTW Josh you know that sin is a method of mind control?

I didn't realize how many christians we have in this forum. Jlap, Congrats on at least taking the step in acknowledging that there is a god and christ is the savior. Perhaps one day you will feel the need to pursue not only knowledge about god but also a personal relationship with him. I remember awhilez back when i was just like you lol- always smokin that bud, drinkin, porn, ladies, the works. I also got into so many fights- i got cut up a good number of times too. But when i started pursuing god everything changed. I used to be addicted to weed and cigarrettes, but then i asked god to help me quit and BAM! Just like that. No more smoking. And i am convinced that it was him because i have tried to quit many times before with no success. Thats just the tip of the iceberg on the impact he's had on my life.

God doesn't want you to be a part of a religion or a specific denomination of Christianity. He wants you to have a personal relationship with Him, where you go to church or what denomination you call yourself doesn't matter unless it is proclaiming false truths that don't match God's word

Couldn't say it better my self.

I can't express the feeling of knowing god is your buddy. Tell me, who's better then god to have your back?

That's so true Outsiders. My Rabbii always says that God should be on a personal level. Every time I go to synaguogue (spelling?) there is a certain prayer everyone does where they chant by themeselves and get to self meditate. I can't remember what it's called, but it is a 1 on 1 prayer with God. Being Jewish has given faith to myself and my morals. Faith, That is the common bond that connects all religions together. Sometimes people forget how much we all share that particular aspect.

Mmmm I'm an anomaly lol. I've always been the perfect teenager, great relationship with my rents, never been in a fight, almost straight a's, college bound, but I do all the "bad" stuff lol.

Today is like 7th day without a cigarette lol.

Hey Clint, the little stuff counts too. You know, like being nice to someone, even if it's only once, Making people smile... stuff like that...and personal change like you just mentioned. People are rewarded one way or another for stuff like that. Everyday you make me laugh clint, I can tell you're a good person...You have nothing to fear.

Every club gets to make up its own rules and and I know of no branch of Club Christ that would include:

"I'm not religious!"
"It'll be a cold day in hell before I step foot in church."
"I still like porn and drugs"
"I don't think they can prove or disprove god."
"I don't even like calling myself a chistian."

I once was a Christian, of the "1-2-3-4-5-6-7; all good children go to heaven" Sunday school model. I've grown into more or less of an agnostic, not knowing if there is a God or not. But if there is one (or more), she or he or it or they would almost certainly agree with, "I still hate it when people quote the bible and I think christian music sucks!" and might give JLAP an honorary membership for saying it.

Lmao I almost fell out of my chair bruce!

I asked someone here about the unforgivable sin a week ago, and then they replied to me today. Not mentioning names.

They started it on homosexuality being a sin lol. What a way to start the day huh?

If I don't fit someone's definition and I don't fit in their box then forget them is all I can say. I'm happy, and now I believe in God but that's still not good enough for them. I'm not doing this for them.

Thats right, Clint. This IS YOUR walk, not theirs. So walk it, learn, and DO NOT cram your concept of God down anyone elses throat, as many "Christians" seem to think they have to do these days. Telling you how to live is the first step to Nanny Christianity. God is your Father, not them. Homosexuality is a sin. So is chasing women, and worse, catching them! You are accepted by God as you are, through love. And anyone who says differently needs to check themselves out before proclaiming you or anyone else, beyond redemption. Walk your walk, Clint. You have my full support. And I am sure, HIS!
