My beginner plant care guide

I wrote an article for friends and others who have asked me how I maintain my plants. I realize it's a little short on info, but the target audience is people who aren't sure about the basics of plant care. I'd appreciate any positive criticism and tips. Thank you!

Here's the guide - http://www.rbgrn.net/blog/2007/06/i_received_my_first_plant.html

Welcome to the forum! These plant's are pretty specialized and a lot of the stuff in that guide isn't applicable, if not the complete opposite of what you should do with carnivorous plants (and even then, what's good for one genera could kill the other).

I suggest you take some time and read through this website thoroughly. This website is where I started out a long time ago. It's full of basic information that should get you on the right path to growing carnivores in no time! I might also suggest picking up copies of The Savage Garden by Peter D'Amato and Growing Carnivorous Plants by Barry Rice.

Welcome to TF! I knew virtually nothing more than the average "John Q. Public" out there and within one chapter of Savage Garden I learned of all the things I had been doing wrong.... and how to correct them. Trying to ID the plants that Lowes was selling led me past the book to the Internet, where I found this discussion forum. Then I learned tons more!
