Thats right we should ban axes too. They are solely made for killing. Trees. And for chopping up and disposing of their remains in a fire so that we can erase all the evidence of the tree murder.

Why have the tree huggers not taken up the case? They are clearly devices made for killing [trees]!

WE CANT HAVE CHILDREN SAFE IN A HOUSE WITH A KILLING TOOL [for trees]

If you couldnt detect the sarcasam and irony in that post then there is no help for you

Interesting stuff Rattler, makes me think of how violent crime has spiraled out of control in countries where they've banned guns like England...
People don't take account of how often people are beaten to death. It does happen and you know it's not an easy way to go either.

Forget about foreign countries try Chicago. Banning weapons there has led to only the criminal element and police having them. And of course the otherwise law abiding citizens that feel the need for home protection despite the ban.

Violent crime is climbing in the united states too, even with our lax gun laws. terms of robbery trends, robbery had the largest percentage increase, 3.9 percent, in the estimated number of offenses when compared with the 2004 estimate in the united states. This rate of growth increased to 6 precent in 2006. An estimated 16,692 persons were murdered nationwide in 2005, an increase of 3.4 percent from the 2004 figure.

Preliminary figures indicate that, as a whole, law enforcement agencies throughout the Nation reported an increase of 1.3 percent in the number of violent crimes brought to their attention in 2006 when compared to figures reported for 2005 (that i showed above). The violent crime category includes murder, forcible rape, robbery, and aggravated assault.

    Violent crimes are increasing worldwide.

That is a very good article and makes a good case for gun ownership.
I posted an article the other day "Bad guys lose again" that reinforces the premise. Two men, during the commission of a felony, tried to force a man to do something against his will. He reacted in kind…he shot them.
In this case, having a firearm, put a 71-year old man on an equal footing with two young criminals.
