    PK,

before you commit, here is some quick caveats...

if your water pressure is not at least 45-50 psig then you will need a booster pump or the system wont work very well (very high brine ratio)

if you are going to use a captive air tank, the rejection raito gets worse as the tank fills and pressure differential across the membrane drops, to correct this a permeate pump can be used, this can also increases prefilter life dramatically (doesnt take long to pay for itself)

    dont buy used!!

its best if you use your system daily, this keeps bacteria from growing in the membrane

buy a TDS meter and pressure gauge for troubleshooting probs and checking performance

test your water pressure if possible, then if you can... you will be much happier in the long run by adding a permeate pump

see link for image of mine: http://terraforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=109118

I have pretty high water pressure. If the water is on full when I shower, it hurts.
Honestly, I'm looking for someone to just tell me what to buy. Seriously, I feel like I'm totally lost. I don't really need some huge GPD thing or whatever, because I only water once every 3 days, and don't use that much water.

So uh...someone look on purewaterclub or something tell me which one to get lol.

excellent, most membranes need 50 or 60psi to produce rated flow at rated rejection ratio at rated brine ratio (pressure measured at membrane inlet, post prefiltering)

    good deal....

FWIW my advice, if your budget will allow it... plan on spending closer to 200, you will have a system that will preform well with minimal waste water and have long prefilter and membrane life

    just my opinion mate

I want it complete too....I want to plug it in or whatever and be good to go.

    What about this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/AQUA-SAFE-HOME-I...QQcmdZViewItem
    Or this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/6-stage-150GPD-R...QQcmdZViewItem

What's the diff between the last link and this one? http://cgi.ebay.com/150GPD-0ppm-Reve...QQcmdZViewItem
your first choice is a good basic system that a lot of CP'ers use, however... they have changed the flow restrictor to a much less user friendly design. Also notice that the prefilters are rated at 5 micron, that is pretty cheesey... rough on the membrane, 1 or 2 micron would be preferable (and more expensive)

your second and third choices are being sneaky... notice the key phrase "designed for your reef system" this usually means that there is no captive air tank or outlet valve included... the tank would be a substantial additional cost (the also do not include the pic of a captive air tank in the list of included items)

What do you think of this: http://www.purewaterclub.com/catalog...roducts_id=108

+ permeate filter + auto shut off valve?

Do I need to buy a separate attachment to hook it up to the sink? I don't see that on their site. Maybe I just don't know what its called?

I really appreciate all your help btw. Should've done this a while ago haha.
