I think for most systems you need to poke a whole in the drainage pipe and cold water pipe if I remember. I got this for x-mas, no problems so far http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...2BSI%26otn%3D4

Good idea. I doubt the people that move in will look/know what it is/care....as long as it still works.

one that produces water under 50ppm (parts per million) would be safe for use with general cp's.
I'm so glad I had a filter before I started growing, it has a UV filter too and lights up when you use it haha I love the sticker that says you should wear sunglasses when using it.

Man this is a fast topic:

I'm in the same boat as you are PK. I'm in a rental so I don't want any permanent damage to the plumbing with an RO system. I’d like a system good enough for CP’s and drinking water. My water is pretty hard; about 325ppm.

I've been online shopping for an RO system for a month or so, and it's quite confusing and rather over-complicated. At least the sales-end of it all is, I think…

I too, am not looking for a mega-gallon-per-day system; just something with a good low PPM of TDS. A complete kit that is ready to go out-of-box.

For those of you with RO ownership experience; what "stage" system is preferable? Five stage? Six? Seven? Is the final UV light stage necessary or is it sales hype?

I think what PK and I are looking for is advice on what we need and what we do not need in an RO system. We don’t want to waste our time and money on something that doesn't work for us and ultimately be unhappy with…

    Thanks,
Only a moral and virtuous people are capable of freedom; the more corrupt and vicious a people becomes, the more it has need of masters. -- Benjamin Franklin
