as for taxes.....there is nothing worse to me than paying taxes, and ive yet to receive an actual refund instead of paying, EVER. Although, the relief fund that Bush had approved a few years back did get me a refund check, which i later found out that they took that $350 check that the IRS sent me ended up being added to my debt of $15k+. talk about a screwed up system, why even send it?. i cant wait till the day i move away from this hell hole thats run by retards calling themselves politicians.
its not a refund....in order to have a refund you have to have a surplus.......its a loan from the Chinese

Actually businesses don't pay taxes; they pass the cost on to the consumer. So punitive taxes on the productive businesses really only reflects back onto us, the consumers. Businesses are what produces things/services and employs workers (income earners). Once upon a time we (the US) used to pay the cost of government with import tariffs; we never used to have an income tax prior to 1916, IIRC.

Don't fall for this class-warfare manure that the Dems are throwing out. Terms like "pay their fair share" and "tax the rich" are smoke screens and down right divisive rhetoric designed to set American against American based on race, gender, income, what-have-you. We’re all better than that.

We need to stick together as a freedom loving people and resist to our utmost the creeping socialism that has caused so many harmful divisions. Let us not be manipulated any further.
Only a moral and virtuous people are capable of freedom; the more corrupt and vicious a people becomes, the more it has need of masters. -- Benjamin Franklin

Class warfare? Democrats? I thought it was coming from Lou Dobbs! When he's not talking about illegal immigrants, he's talking about class warfare. This "class warfare" crap is BS. The Bourgeoisie and Bobo's aren't at fiscal war with the Proletariat.

I think it's funny how people toss around the words "upper class" and "elite". In actuality, you can have more money that Ross Perot but unless you also have social influence, you're not "upper class" or "elite" if you go by definition. People say Obama or Hillary are "elite" after they say something condescending, but they were already elite to begin with. They're rich and have social influence. That makes them elite by definition, even if they were both saints beloved be ALL Americans. It's strange how it jumps from middle, upper middle, straight to upper class. Where do the rich people who don't do anything fit in?

This all wreaks of fantasies of archaic cotillions.

I don't believe it's a smoke screen. Democrats trying to set people against each other based on race or gender? This is antithetical to liberal ideology. Companies, like oil companies, do get tax breaks. Why are we giving them tax breaks when they make huge profits? And we SHOULD tax the rich, and they SHOULD pay their fair share. Emphasis on FAIR. They should pay the same as the middle class. I am in support of tax breaks for the lower and lower middle class.

I love all this speak of class warfare (class conflict) however it is inherent in capitalist systems. Its the nature of the beast I am not saying its good or bad I am just saying it part of capitalism. If you don't believe me read some Marx, Das Capital has a great analysis of class conflict and the nature of capitalism.

As for taxes no matter how you divvy them up someone will always say they are not getting treated fairly. The rich and the large corporations get tax breaks because they fund the campaigns of politicians who set the tax codes. Its as simple as that and as long as there is money flying around people will become corrupt its just what happens.

But there is not a war. And the great thing about capitalism is if you're poor as dirt, you can become the richest man in America. And visca versa.

one thing overlooked when ppl say that businesses get tax breaks cause of contribution.....the other reason they do is cause they CREATE JOBS for the area and then the income that the workers pay taxes on is taxed by the local, state and federal governments.......there are two sides to every argument and it can be argued that a big enough company can create enough jobs that the state and feds make more off of taxing the pay on the newly created jobs than they would get by taxing the company directly.....i know the paper can get "grants" to purchase new equipment at no cost to us if purchasing that new equipment creates a new job and keeps someone employed full time for over a year......the grants arent huge and we are fare from a big buisness but the thinking behind them is the government will make more money in taxing the wages of the new worker than they will loose by giving us the $ to buy the new equipment and they are right.......however we just need new equipment and dont have the funds to hire a new person so we havent gone that direction
