Hey Joosa, you know her, eh?

I bought three chinese ooths from her this year for the garden. They just hatched this week (well, the one in the GH did about 10 days ago). Now I have itty bitty mantids running around. They're hard as heck to find right now, since they're so little.

But soon enough....the neighbor's kids will stay in their own darn yard!

The damsel has laid another egg sac while I was away for a week!

I haven't found much information on the species so I just have to keep an eye on the ootheca. They are just 1cm across so the nymphs to appear would be tiny. There are holes on the containter and they must escape. I have a couple more weeks before they start hatching so I got to start think about how to house and what to feed them.

Hi everyone, I managed to take a few pictures yesterday. Hope to share with all of you.

First ooth - I counted 8 openings; but saw only 7, rescued 6...means another was eaten by mum earlier

Second ooth - it is turning darker...are the babies hatching soon?

Third ooth - the longest so far

    One of the babies

    It is about 3/10" long.

I really want one. Where do they live? Are they ok to catch?
