    The Booook of the Daaaaamned!

Since it seems plenty of us here enjoy reading about the metaphysical & cryptozoological mysteries (both super-natural and super-science type phenomena). I thought I'd tell you about a really neat book I scored today called "The Book of the Damned; The Collected Works of Charles Fort". He was one of the earlier researchers into these unexplained phenomena (I think this book is originally from the 1920s) topics like rains of frogs, powders & fish, UFOs and giant Rabbits, abominable snowman, etc,.And lot of weird things I've never even heard of but all the fun stuff! This new pressing is in a huge omnibus paperback format which actually includes 4 of his books (so it's over 1000 pages). Fun reading for anyone who wants a more philosophical / psychological version of Ripleys.

    Here it is on Amazon:

    From the wikipedia entry:

People with a psychological need to believe in marvels are no more prejudiced and gullible than people with a psychological need not to believe in marvels.

His philosophy of generalized agnosticism on everything is part of the reason I picked up the book.
