    Hey Scott,

How do you get on/off that thing lol?
I've always wanted to get into longboarding. How do you slow down from speeds like that?

And I was wondering the same thing about getting on/off. lol

There is a little "step" on the "backbone"..you use that to get on and off..
I still havent actually ridden one! but would like to try it..
they were infamous for "headers"..if the front wheel hits a small obstruction, the rider can very easily flip right over onto the ground! this is actually the origin of "taking a header"..
this problem led to the creation of the "safety bicycle"..

Then she rode all over the neighborhood the rest of the evening.
Well, as i said, the building next door, there's a plaza next door, with all flat road except for a hill that connects all. I rode around the first building, and last night did a big lap around the first 2. It's a 21-speed mongoose.

I'm a big biking fan also. I try to get out every day but settle for 4-6 days / week. Building / buying a 'bent' remains on my forever todo list - I've just got to up the priority. You do know that there is a great bent shop in NY state an hour or 2 from you - right? I was looking into building something like this carbon-fiber machine. My wife & I built a wood touring kayak a few years back so I'm comfortable with fiberglass / epoxy construction & would love to do some rigid foam shaping and fiberglass building...

Seeing those wacky old bikes reminds me the "Minneapolis punk rock bike ride" is coming up. All sorts of freaks ride their weird/homemade bikes from Minneapolis to Mankato and back. Unicycles seem very popular in my dads neighborhood with the punks, I don't get how they can ride that down the street with a sack of grocerys and book bag!

Its called sliding or speed checking. Its the best way. You can also foot brake, but your shoes' soul will be eviserated, you can actually see the smoke sometimes lol!

    Here, check out this video.
When the board goes sideways is when the slide is taking place. These are rather puny ones, sometimes racers slide for 40 ft. + and leave trails of urethane (wheels) behingd them!

Also, check these ones out! vid 1 (racing), this one (general awsomeness), this and this one!
