Cool, but it always makes me wonder, why wouldn't they adapt to chew through the pitcher with their mandibles? Seems like a good advantage to a nest if they take out both pitchers and prevent losing workers.
I have some that are about half full, but this was a younger one that opened later in the summer. I trimmed off some full dying ones today. I migiht slice them open if they're still lying there tomorrow. See how many bugs are in there.
