Bass rules! That's what I played too in a HS band, though it was death metal.

Once I got a decent keyboard synth I really lost interest in playing any other instruments.

Some of my favorite songs of all time are from Failure's 1996 album, Fantastic Planet. Saturday Savior, Sergeant Politeness, Smoking Umbrellas, Leo, The Nurse Who Loved Me, and Heliotropic are all top-notch songs. Actually, the album Fantastic Planet is much better than the sum of its parts, which is true of most stellar albums.
