Let's positive thinking!
Hey all, happy New Year's! For those following the Gregorian calendar on the other side of the date line, I guess. Here's a fun link about how I spent New Year's back in my childhood: http://www.travelandleisure.com/slideshows/worlds-strangest-new-year-traditions/3
In Panama and a number of other Latin American countries they burn effigies (called muñecos - "dolls" in Panama at least) to usher out the old year and welcome the new one. I certainly didn't understand/notice it as a toddler, but I guess these days it's popular to build likenesses of influential or well-known people.
Anybody else have any interesting New Year's traditions?
